Well, at about 5-6 minutes per song, figure on no more than 10 bands per hour playing, gotta figure out how you're going to handle the demand.

So do you give instructions on being gentle with the equipment, or give people the boot if they are just mashing on a guitar or pounding the drums to death?

If you set up rock band in a bar, unattended by a host, you'll eventually have someone drunk smashing a guitar at the end of a song. You have to monitor what's going on, and anticipate problems before they can happen.

    3. Has participation increased, decreased, or remained steady lately?
    4. The above comment on the price for Karaoke and DJ's at $4-800 seems the same as where I'm at (as provided by a karaoake operator friend ), so is anyone getting that kind of money for events, or is it much less?
    5. How much time do you think you invest in operating these events? Say, a one night deal of 4 hours, how much time do you think you average for such a deal, including hauling equipment, setup, updates to DLC, etc.?
    1. Not yet, still $1300 to pay off a $5000 loan to purchase equipment.
    2. None so far, but it's very early days for us.
    3. Still trying to get a regular gig, only had one off's so far
    4. That seems a little high, but I'm in AUD, so can't really compare.
    5. For a 4 hour gig, probably about 7 hours including travel and setup / breakdown

I just confirmed a gig that will have 1600 invited guests (expected that about 900 will show).
I will be the primary entertainment. A wild night is putting it mildly.

I am hiring a video crew and photographer.

    Any last words of wisdom?

    Awesome, congrats!!

Do they want to chuck in flights as a rider and I'll come and be your roadie?

Talking CTE site is live and running...

    Good day to everyone,

Just wanted to once again thank YRDaddy for all of his input, comments and suggestions on getting things going for me. Although I was off to a slow start, I finally have the Crooked Tree Entertainment site up and running and can be located at http://www.crooktree.net. Worked on the content for the site over the past week and more content to come once we actually get some "gigs" going. I am going to try to keep up with things and won't allow the site content get too old. Gotta keep it interesting and fresh.

YRDaddy has been instrumental, as with other contributors of this thread, in giving me ideas and "how to's" when marketing. Just got our tri-fold brochures printed this past week, ordered some nice business cards and been pressing our Presentation CD for establishments that cater to the Karaoke vendors. Have an ad on Craigslist and a few others to get the name out there. Once the business cards come, will be hitting the streets to hopefully add to the businesses event calendars out there plus ours. Just need to get their interest up.

So good luck to those out there already hitting the streets and will monitor this thread as I do through out the week. By the way, we are located in the Northern Virginia area if anyone was interested in that tid-bit of information .

    Take care all!!

LOL! Once again, this is aimed more at the bars themselves as opposed to the Bar Night Providers. I've seen some of the Old Navy kiosks though and they may not be in the best shape after some snot nosed 6 year old beat the hell out of it while soccor mommy shopped for some new sweater for 2 hours

There is nothing that says that this is not available to the providers though, after all, you are still a member in the program, and is there anyone here who is going to turn down a free 22" tv and a free xbox Sadly... none availble in Colorado though

On another note... I know there has been contributers from all over the US here on this thread. Is anybody here available in the following cities:

Alberquerqe (whatever with spelling that correct)
    Tucson
    Las Vegas
    Memphis

Get back to me if you are a provider in one of those cities please...

None in CA either. I had thought of getting it just for the monitor and whatever 'brain' is involved. I guess they don't want to pay the disposal fee for these things.

I tell you, more fantastic offers like this one and we'll be calling the Bar Nights program 'Sanford and Son' part 2

I honestly think it is a pretty decent offer - if for just the monitor and Xbox alone. I will take what I can get if it is free.

I have been confirmed to pick up one of the kiosks in North Carolina. Must be picked up by Friday at 4pm.
