It is possible that it wouldn't because of the way Nintendo provides development libraries and because the Wii doesn't have an OS like the 360 and the PS3. See: http://hackmii.com/2009/02/why-the-w...et-any-better/

But that is why I asked for confirmation from someone who already had an SDHC card to test with before I run out and pick one up.

If this works, screw the 4gb card I had shipped in. I'm getting a 32g!

    Hold your horses, gentlemen!

Wii's architecture is somewhat different than the one we have in Xbox or PS3. Probably each game has its own filesystem driver which will not nessesarily work with the new wii menu sdhc support.

Rockband SDHC support has to be proven, so don't order your sd cards yet (or do it and test to post results).

More info about how wii works and why it sucks: http://hackmii.com/2009/02/why-the-w...et-any-better/

This. I've PM'd HMXHenry asking for an answer; hopefully, we'll get one soon.

I await the good news when I come back from class. Nintendo should srsly allow patches, like srsly.

From what I'm reading today, it's more than a matter of policy. I don't fully understand the details, but for those who do, it seems it has to do with the Wii CPU not supporting virtualization.

Guess what, patches are technically possible! It is possible to load different executable than the one on the disc and it will work (this way pirates 'bypass' some piracy checks...).

    edit, tech talk:
We should be able to download 'patches' as patched .dols from, let's say, shop channel. They would be stored on the console. Disc channel would check if there is any dol for the game in the memory, and run it instead of the one on the disc. Patched content is different thing (if they wanted to change textures or sounds for example), but should be possible too.

    Ouch.
The more I read, the more I regret getting a Wii.
On the bright side, I've got a 360 too. I just wish I could get more out of the Wii. Feels like it's just kinda... sitting there, collecting dust.
