I just sent an email to Nintendo (nintendo@noa.nintendo.com ):

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to review my issue. I like probably ALL other Wii owners am elated that Nintendo finally enabled SDHC support with the 4.0 firmware update. However, upon inserting Rock Band 2 into my Wii, I got an error message that the SD card (SDHC) was invalid. It seems that Rock Band 2 cannot read the sdhc card for it’s downloadable content.

As you can imagine, this is a HUGE problem for those of us who purchased Rock Band 2 (and I assume Guitar Hero: World Tour), since downloadable content is kind of at the crux of the whole “storage” issue for the Wii. Personally, I have filled my 2GB SD card, and was thrilled at the prospect of using sdhc (now I can play virtual console and wii ware games again!)…

Please give me an idea as to what has to be done in order to address this problem…or if there is anything that can be done to fix this problem. I understand that this is likely something that the developer is going to have to deal with… and if that is the case, I understand, but was wondering if Nintendo will now allow patches/updates for games like this, or if we are just (for lack of a better word) screwed??

Thanks for your help, and I am eagerly looking forward to your response.

i would do this for gh:wt and rb2
I don't hate to say it, I echo the sentiment. I might even pay $5.00 plus a slice of pie... Kryptonite pie, for the developers... Just let me use my sdhc card... It has been sitting collecting dust for 2 months WAITING for this update!

Interestingly enough, it appears that this update broke the usage of my 4 GB (non-SDHC) card. Sigh, I guess I have to go back to using a 2 GB card now.

    Good news

This is definitely good news for us wii owners (the sdhc announcement, not the fact that it isn't currently working with rb2).
32GB is definitely enough to hold every song I intend on purchasing and then some.

Thank you Nintendo for finally adding this support. Now lets just hope they iron out the details and get this working soon.

    Wait, what?
I don't see how that is possible... if nothing has changed inside Rock Band, and assuming everything else said in this thread thusfar is accurate (i.e. the sd 'code' is inside rock band already) then how could this change anything?

Losing my 4gb card functionality would be a big deal for me, and if this is the case I hope the update is user triggered... that way I can avoid it.
