What's your fictional band's "story"?

First, because I like making characters, I made a Punk band, a Metal band, a Classic Rock band and a Goth band.

Then I took my favorite character from each band to make a SUPERBAND.

They are called Icarus Airlines, because they aim for the sun.

Funny you ask... I've been considering the "story" since I started playing RB2. Here it goes: The Story of Vitamin Sea! It has made up stuff of course but also includes events based on what really happened in my career mode.

It all started as a group of 4 friends. Three of them: Larry, Bob, and Joe, were the sons of US soldiers stationed near Stockholm, Sweden. Larry got a guitar for his thirteenth birthday and was hooked instantly. Joe picked up a bass and the two started to jam together. Bob didn't have any kind of instrumental talent, but he sang a lot in church so he joined in. But there was one problem: They needed a drummer. After a bar fight between Larry and the only drummer they knew, Bo, they decided to look elsewhere. The three searched throughout Sweden until they found Afgk. She is the only member of the band that's not American-born. Vitamin Sea, as they were dubbed by Joe after drinking a glass of OJ, was an instant hit in Sweden. Soon they would expand all over Europe. These Americans in Europe gained popularity fast, opening for various European bands, until their first headlining show in Paris. And so began the first of their troubles.

The show in Paris gained infamy quickly. Larry played pathetically on the new songs they had prepared. It was later discovered he was suffering from a serious medical condition that had made him light-headed and dizzy. After a make-up show was played, Vitamin Sea quickly got back on track, building up their fanbase until they finally made enough money after a show in Madrid to get a plane.

Their success wasn't quite instant in America. After playing in some clubs on the West Coast, they were getting a bit more popular. They expanded into New York, where Larry suffered another attack from his condition. He finally went on medication for it and hasn't had any problems with it since. The East Coast is where Vitamin Sea really caught on in America. They made their home in New York and eventually grew to worldwide fame.

Vitamin Sea had always been a strange bunch, with Larry in some flambuoyant outfit and everyone else in a T-shirt and jeans. Bob just went shirtless. But after gaining worldwide fame, the band expanded to different types of music and all wearing rugged, military-style clothes. They've only become more successful. Vitamin Sea is currently working on a new album and preparing for a world tour.

We thought of the name because of where we moved to for a job. Let's just say it reminded us of the movie, and we were happy to get out and back to the 716.

The story (loosely based on my comments on my bands):

The Archies went on a world tour, and at a show in Stockholm, played a setlist of requests as "The Pizza Arcade". "Drive Thru Petting Zoo" (original band's original name) was the opening act, featuring the enigmatic Alex9152 as bassist and the equally enigmatic !!!!!!!????? as guitarist. The Pizza Arcade went back to being The Archies and finished the European leg of their tour. Meanwhile Drive Thru Petting Zoo built up a following in Europe. After The Archies finished their tour they brought back their Pizza Arcade project and toured with Drive Thru Petting Zoo, gaining the fans of DTPZ. Eventually DTPZ found out about an act called "Heavy Petting Zoo" and broke up to avoid a conflict with the far superior act, and The Archies went on hiatus to focus on The Pizza Arcade's following.

At the time, Archie and Betty, and Reggie and Veronica were steady couples. One performance of "Go Your Own Way" broke them both up, as Archie badly botched the solo and Veronica's keyboard stopped working.

One of Archie's old crushes, Cheryl Blossom, who secretly wanted to be a member of the Archies, was surprised when Archie approached her to be the lead guitarist. Betty was demoted to rhythm guitar and Archie would only sing from here out.

Archie and Cheryl started dating, Betty and Veronica conspired to break them up, Cheryl started dating Reggie, and that didn't go over so well. Cheryl met the singer of one of the opening acts, George of Razor Bran (gothic metal act consisting of rich kids), and fell in love.

The Pizza Arcade, with the legendary guitar and bass work of Cheryl and Reggie respectively, eventually got inducted into the Hall of Fame. However, Archie wanted the performance at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony to be with the original lineup and so Cheryl was temporarily kicked. Archie didn't mind, he wasn't dating her anymore.

Cheryl, a spoiled brat who always got what she wanted, had to take action here. She took more and more control of the band (Archie started wanting her again so this was easy), and had ideas of starting a new band to get back at the band. The band continued packing arenas.

She first tried wearing the band out with a sabotaged performance at the Endless Concert, and only she came out with gold status (but her tricks didn't work and the rest of the band was unharmed). Later she steered the band to a darker sound.

Already a legend, Reggie wanted the band to take on the Endless Setlist again. He wimped out the first time and brought !!!!!!!!!!????? in as guitarist the second time. After the performance Reggie was hailed as the next Geddy Lee.

At this point Cheryl had taken the rights to the Pizza Arcade name from Archie, and fired the entire band. She founded The Kathryn Wheel Project with herself as guitarist and George as singer. Razor Bran drummer Cedric and session bassist extraordinaire "16BitAlex" were recruited quickly.

The Pizza Arcade and The Kathryn Wheel Project built up a rivalry on the order of that between Metallica and Megadeth. The fans longed to see a Battle Of The Bands between the two bands and got their wish one day.

Cheryl's band's setlist consisted of Peace Sells/Shockwave/Painkiller. Reggie convinced Archie to add Bodhisattva to their setlist (Everlong/Hysteria), but he forgot that his bandmates could not play the song.
The Pizza Arcade lost badly no thanks to Betty botching Bodhisattva's main solo and Jughead being unable to keep up with the drum part in Everlong. The fans of the two bands pronounced The Kathryn Wheel Project the better band.

The Kathryn Wheel Project, when the band was formed, could not claim The Pizza Arcade's Hall of Fame status, but they were inducted briefly after winning the Battle of the Bands. They are now a successful "romantic metal" band (description by 16BitAlex), and were invited to play marathon setlists all over the world. They are easily recognized in their metal outfits but also have rich flamboyant suits.

However, there is tension as 16BitAlex had a crush on Cheryl from the beginning, and the band recently had a horrible performance in London where 16BitAlex rigged George's microphones to feed back and fuzz the vocals to make George look bad so Cheryl would dump George for him. No one ever found out about that (partly because George had a hidden backup microphone), but 16BitAlex was kidnapped by !!!!!!!????? and was forced to perform for AOL Chatrooms. Cheryl convinced (with a lot of money) Reggie to join as touring bassist for a few tours (during that time Veronica took up bass duties for The New Pizza Arcade, with a synthesizer). Those shows were a success. When 16BitAlex returned the band celebrated with a gig at LA's Wilshire Forum.

With The Pizza Arcade disgraced, The Archies went back to their original band. After a while they started The New Pizza Arcade, with very few fans, but started touring again with a more pop oriented sound.

As for the DTPZ members, Alex9152 retired from music the day he earned his Vinyl status standing in for Reggie on the Endless Setlist the first time, and !!!!!!!!????? became a session guitarist.


Meanwhile in Guitar Hero Land, the Guitar Hero Backing Band was tired of being out of work since Guitar Hero World Tour put them out of a job. They rounded up the star guitarists that they used to play with and only Lars Umlaut was unavailable for contact. They started an act "Too Many Parentheses" and started playing the New York scene. Opening for The New Pizza Arcade was their big break and the two bands toured together. With the stars rotating the band had fans of diverse genres. Eventually Activision found out about this and they had to stop touring. Fans of Too Many Parentheses, with their favorite band gone, started supporting The New Pizza Arcade for some reason.

!!!!!!!!????? started a gag band "AOL Chatrooms" in LA one day, as drummer, and found a character named "Oldster." to take up guitar duties.

I hope to turn this into a huge crossover fanfic between the Archie, Guitar Hero, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Rock Band universes. I am also considering "The Kathryn Wheel" as a real band name (where I could be guitarist or bassist).

Great. Now back to the drawing board. "Caviar Morning" is my second choice name, got it from a Worth1000 photo contest. Third choice being "Shy Anne" poking fun at bad baby names.

Replace all references to the old name with "Shy Anne".

Here's a trip: I'm listening to Endless Sacrifice by Dream Theater. The Wikipedia article compares the vocals to Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson's. Bruce Dickinson is the older cousin of Catherine Wheel's Rob Dickinson.
