    A Little Drone I Recorded

So, this is just something that I recorded with a friend using several techniques that we found could make some really cool sounds. I then took the recordings and edited them to feature some really weird, distorted tones. I, personally, think it actually sounds pretty good. However, I know there are some of you out there who could give me some criticisms (mainly afterstasis and HungryFreak) one what you like and dislike about it. It's basically 10 minutes of insanely loud feedback and distortion.

I'll definitely get around to listening to it after I finish listening to Hüsker Dü. I liked that one other song you've posted before (still have it on my computer, haha).

Which one haha. I've recorded a few really random things. I think you're talking about my random "Sinking Belle" imitation, though.

This one is rather different. It's nonstop noise. I tried to go for the density of The Angelic Process while keeping the drone-ness of Sunn O))).

Edit: Never mind, I know the thing you're talking about. My drumless stoner metal riffs combined with a wah-wah drone. Haha. This is much much different. I've got several tracks recorded.

Nah, I heard that "Solitary Black" song that you put up on last.fm. Solid stuff, indeed. Just started listening. Comments in about 8 minutes.

Yeah, that was a while ago. I took that down, I believe, mainly because I've progressed a lot since then and actually have a band of musicians with me now. I don't think I'm going to add this one to Last.fm under a name or anything, but I'm keeping my drones saved on my computer for future reference. You never know when they might come in handy.

IT ALL JUST SOUNDS LIKE A BUNCHA NOISE!

I kid of course, haha. Pretty cool drone there. Sounded like a town covered in insects, some signs of life beating subtly under the insectoid assault until flatlining at the end. I loved everything going on underneath the main drone and how it delicately shifted how I heard it. The one main gripe I had was that it opened a bit too suddenly. It could benefit from some buildup or context in an album. Great job, though.

Yeah, the beginning is the main thing I don't like, too. I always have difficulty figuring out a way to open up things like that. I can get the middle down and finish them off (the ending of this one is my favorite part) but I can never seem to get the intro down. I think I might use some guitar-amp feedback alternating from high volume to low volume. Not sure.

Nice description, though haha. Insectoid would maybe be a good name for the song.

Maybe you could try starting with something softer, more isolated and letting the noise take it over or fading it in (if you're lazy, haha).

"Consuming Impulse" would be a good name, but Pestilence stole it already, haha (that album cover is what came to mind wen thinking of the song).

Haha yeah. That album cover came to mind, too.

After listening to this a few more times, I'm discovering things that I didn't put there. Somehow, all of the effects just created the sounds of ghosts crying out. Not sure how that happened, but it is certainly a good thing.

I haven't really gotten into drone, but I've only listened to a couple drone albums so far. I thought this was good, though.
