Hello, Ultimate Setlisters! As you may well know we are nearing the end of the road for the albums announced fall last year with Nothing's Shocking (likely) coming out next week. Now you may be wondering, "I wonder what Harmonix is going to do next?" Well, until they come right out and say it, all we have is our imagination and knowledge of music. So that brings me to our little game...
We all have albums that we want to play in RB, but realistically we probably won't get all of them, especially if they are all of the same genre.
So after weeks (not really) of looking through the genres RB has supported before, and speculating on how Harmonix chooses albums, I've compiled a little ruleset for picking albums and genres.
Basic Rules:
- Give other bands a chance! If a band has already recieved and album or 12+ songs in RB (this includes AC/DC) in the past, try someone else. (Nirvana is iffy. If you absolutely need to have more Nirvana, put them in. If you are just looking for another grunge band try Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, or Stone Temple Pilots)
- Use the genre Harmonix has chosen. If a band has received a song or two in past under a particular genre, put the album under that genre too.
- Only two greatest hits or complete singles packs allowed. If you go with greatest hits then specify tracks in your post.
- No more than four albums from this decade.
- Don't worry about the WMG mess, but don't add albums from artists we are very unlikely to ever get. (Led Zep, Eagles, VH, Metallica, etc.) One or two will be forgiven if you didn't know.
- You can send one album down a tier. (to be explained shortly) (For example if you wanted an extra Tier 2 album, you can take one down from the Tier 1, and so on. You can't move albums up a tier.
- Find a whole in the rules? Confused? Want suggestions for an album? Bring it up in the topic and I'll try to help.
