I'm not a bassist so the bass lines I compose on guitar tabbing programs are kind of weird, lol... I still like it but anyway.

I agree about following the guitar rythm, but I don't know what's a melodic edge.
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

It just a fake term I use to describe adding more melodic passages with in the music.

Ok, if I understand well, that's what I had in mind.

And I know I said that before but I think that slowing down the song would be good. I've playing the chords indicated and I really love it, but I'd play it at something like 4/5 of the speed of the youtube video.

I think were are cool on that. I got the a similar skill set as you (2 years of theory) ok keyboard skills but I also have recording equipment. Thanks for your offer to help though.

I still have to write the lyrics, and figure out how to pm people so I'll just post the lyrics. But we are going to record lyrics last.

Ok my backing track is done. I uploading it now and I will put it on the front page. It has 2 tracks. One just guitar and the other with guitar naming off the chords and what things will happen at certain times (such as solos and bass fills). The whole thing is 126 mb so be warned before downloading it.

I don't suggest tribal. Go for simple back beat rhythm. Put in fills between each segment.

It would look like this in Rock Band charting
