I'm still waiting for the Cinematic Titanic folks to do another show in Minneapolis so my wife and I can take a drive out and see them perform.

And the wait is finally over! Cinematic Titanic is doing a live performance of Rattlers in Minneapolis next month, so my wife and I will take a modest 8-hour drive to watch the show. Also cool, the performance we see will be recorded for an upcoming DVD release.

Awesome, Ox. They showed Rattlers in SF and it's blast. It's filled with 70's cheese, bad FX, and a extremely sexist lead.

Somehow I've never seen a single episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Essentially it's a show for smart asses. So it's like the forums but they make fun of movies.

It pretty much is a cult too. Trying to explain to people that you like to watch bad movies to shout jokes out will produce some odd looks. For example tomorrow night is a live Rifftrax riff of Jack the Giant Killer. (Rifftrax is made up of some of the the old MST3k crew) If I say I'm going to the movies and people ask what I'm going to see, it's easier just to say something else. Trying to explain it just gets those strange looks.

When I explain the show to people, most people tend to have a vague recollection of it when I mention the silhouettes at the bottom of the screen. Either that, or they just say "ohhh, I remember THAT" as a way to make me stop explaining it, because they don't have a clue what I'm talking about.
