Further, how can we even decide? Mustaine barely played while he was in Metallica and Hammett has been on every single album. You may as well just make this Metallica vs. Megadeth since the only real way to compare them is within their own bands.

Kirk still has some great solos, but Dave is just the better player.

I'd say Dave Mustaine since his solos are 10x better than Hammetts. Kill Em' All record was Metallica's best written record and since Dave wrote many of the songs on the record, he beats Hammett
