I can't do this in detail yet, (I might later)...

... But music as a whole finest moment is the release of Insane Clown Posse's debut album.

I definitely like the albums within the genres I'm familiar with. Admittedly, I'm not familiar with most death metal, grindcore, black metal, or industrial, but the other choices were excellent, and the ones I'm not familiar with, I'll definitely check out. I especially liked your space rock and jazz album picks, but that's probably because I'm currently on a huge space rock and jazz phase right now. Spiritualized, Hum, Spacemen 3, Alice Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Sun Ra were my favorites within those genres.
Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.

This is a fun idea for a thread. I'm not terribly familiar with many of the songs or albums you listed in the OP, stasis, but of the ones I do recognize I agree with all of your choices. The pop, "classic rock" (especially Elton John - he simply never gets enough credit as a composer, pianist, and singer), and post-punk selections are spot on.

I'll share a few of my opinions, too:

Rock n' Roll Songs: Fats Domino - Ain't That A Shame, Little Richard - Ready Teddy, Elvis Presley - Blue Suede Shoes, Jerry Lee Lewis - Great Balls of Fire, Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley

Pop Songs: Elvis Presley - Surrender, The Cardigans - Lovefool, ABBA - SOS, Madonna - Burning Up & Like A Prayer, Alannah Myles - Black Velvet, Roy Orbison - You Got It, Elton John - Levon, Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer, Moby - Southside
Pop Albums: Fleetwood Mac - Rumours, Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill, Elton John - Madman Across The Water & Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Daft Punk - Discovery, Peter Gabriel - So, Blondie - Parallel Lines

New Wave Songs: Heaven 17 - Let Me Go, Peter Schilling - Major Tom, Duran Duran - Rio, Tom Tom Club - Genius Of Love, Depeche Mode - See You, Talking Heads - Uh Oh, Love Comes To Town, OMD - If You Leave, The B-52s - Devil In My Car, The Style Council - My Ever Changing Moods, The Blow Monkeys - Digging Your Scene, Wall of Voodoo - Mexican Radio, Madness - One Step Beyond, Devo - Snowball, Bow Wow Wow - Do You Wanna Hold Me?, Adam Ant - Antmusic, Siouxsie & The Banshees - Cities in Dust (Debateable), Oingo Boingo - Who Do You Want To Be
New Wave Albums: The Cars - Self-titled, Depeche Mode - Some Great Reward, Devo - Freedom of Choice, The B-52s - Self-titled & Wild Planet, Suicide - Self-titled, Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True, The Rezillos - Can't Stand The Rezillos, Oingo Boingo - Only A Lad

Punk Albums: The Jam - Setting Sons, The Dickies - The Incredible Shrinking Dickies, Devo - Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo, Husker Du - Warehouse: Songs and Stories, X - More Fun In The New World, The Damned - Damned Damned Damned, Blondie - Eat To The Beat

I believe I went a tad overboard with the New Wave section. It's just such an expansive genre I can't limit my choices to just a couple of picks.
    Afraid nobody 'round here
    understands my potato
They think I'm only a spud boy
    looking for a real tomato
    Devo - "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA"

also Post-Rock, you could have included a Sigur Ros album, they have done so much for that genre and should be acknowledged, at the least Agaetis bryjun or ()

if i had expanded the post-rock albums section to 5 i'm pretty sure "agaetis" would've been on there.

i was practicing a lot of restraint with these so i didn't end up with 10+ picks for each little subgenre.

Because they are his picks. I don't believe he is big on the Clash anyways.
