    Why would they be jokes, though? Their lyrics are really wonderful ("We think there's future in the f***ing, but there is no f***ing future") and they come up with wonderful pop hooks.

    They're like an angrier, more exciting Blur, to me.

    i hate blur too, so that may be it.

    nah, i've only heard a few of their songs but they REALLY rub me the wrong way.

    I don't know about the music here, but those lyrics are indefensibly awful! Are people incapable of writing angry or satirical lyrics that don't sound immature as all Hell?

    I suggest everyone check out Soap&Skin. This is a terrible live, but her music is awesome. Sort of like a funnily accented Cat Power (she's Austrian) singing melodramatic piano ballads.

    I recently discovered a band called "Dengue Fever" - Cambodian flavoured psychadelia...I heartily endorse!
