LOLOPINION.
I love both bands, but in my eyes the VU are superior musically, lyrically, and from an influence/innovation standpoint.
I won't discount the fact that the Doors weren't just another cookie cutter band. They were extremely popular, but weird at the same time. Their influence is very big as well.

Well-informed opinions based are more relevant than "i like them" opinions.

I'm just going by the volume of music from each band that I've heard and enjoy, and I have to give the edge to the Doors on this one. No put-down to Velvet Underground - I'm just not as well-exposed to them. I'd get a huge kick out of some Doors in Rock Band.

You read it. You can't unread it.
Besides the bastardization by Yule that was Squeeze, all of the VU albums with at least one original members were magical. Together, they didn't make a bad song.
The Doors made The Soft Parade all together though.

All I'll say is, this is a damn fine battle.
