    The earlier strips aren't as good and just feel generic. The humor and art really pick up later on around the fiftieth. or so. All of the arcs are great, non of them feel tacked on and they all add something to the characters. Fun fact: This is where all my avatars come from.

    I'm thinking this must be a parallel to the oft-used (and oft-misquoted) statement by John Lennon to the effect that the Beatles were bigger than Jesus. By saying that The Beatles: Rock Band was/will be bigger than Mario, it appears to be such sacrilege that the instruments are burned, as though they were heathen works.

    At least that's my take.
    Telling people online how wrong they are since 1990.
