    It is Araya. I think I read somewhere that Lombardo was too.

    Actually, punk presents both sides of the arguement. You can get your far left messages from Sex Pistols or far right from Ramones. Or, this concept may seem a foriegn to some, listen to both sides of the arguement.

    Fun story here;
    I once witnessed, with my own two eyes, HR or Bad Brains and Stza of Leftöver Crack have an intelligent and civil political discussion with two different view points.

    Actually, while I'm not particularly educated on the beliefs of Mayhem members other than Euronymous and Varg, Varg does not believe in the Christian God or any other God. Neither Varg nor Euronymous were Leveyan Satanists, but more of "satanists" in the act they believed in gods other than the Christian god (at the time). Varg now is somewhat of an Atheist, but with social beliefs and values based heavily in pagan and Nordic tradition.
    There are a number of misconceptions regarding what it means to be a Satanist, particularly among the "satanists" in the black metal community.

    But isn't Araya Catholic, or at least loosely?
    Tom Araya is in SLAYER, not MAYHEM. Mayhem is an entirely different genre of metal.

    Are you trying to conclude that can't happen with Christian and say... satanist bands?

    I'm curious, what was the debate about? Don't both bands have similar political beliefs?

    No, actually I was trying points out the holes in your notion that Christian bands promoting religion in music is no different than punk, as a whole, forcing political beliefs.
