The worlds of metal and hard rock will never forget what you've given us.
Case-in-point: If you play That's What You Get (Paramore), you'll notice that during the chorus, you play only 8th notes on the hi-hat, because that's what Paramore's drummer played in the studio. The 16th notes on the hi-hat were added digitally in post-production, so were not included on the Expert drums chart. But what's the animated drummer doing? He's playing the 16th notes.
So yes, the animation track has plenty of different cues for making the animated drummer use the correct pieces of the kit. But the track where you place the drum gems does not.

I'm not saying that playing Rock Band should be the same as reading sheet music, but to suggest that the "full experience of a drummer" involves no differentiation between when to play a tom or a cymbal is just silly.

Harmonix should chart accented notes and ghost notes.
Harmonix should chart proper sticking into it.
Harmonix should add a high hat pedal.
Harmonix should add extra cymbals and toms for some songs.
