Does Harmonix have any plans to open the RBN to other consoles?

I understand that they will port over select songs after a 30 day exclusive, but that really makes me not feel like contacting my bands because the chances of the songs being ported over are probably very slim AND I won't even get the whole album of the indie bands I like.

I was wondering if there was any program thinking of being released for the playstation 3, or even the wii. With the playstation's open ended online platform, I can't really see how programming a program for it would be overly hard or time consuming because Sony would easily give it the thumbs up. I'm going to assume this is another microsoft exclusive thing unfortunately... but still.

I would join the XNA Creators Club again if there was a more sure way that I could play the songs I made on the Playstation. While I do own the 360 version, none of my modded instruments work on it nor the DLC I plopped over $500 into.

It can seem like another whiner, but there is no point putting a bunch of work and money into making my own songs if I will never be able to play them so I was wondering if it'll ever come to the Playstation or how frequently/many harmonix will port over?

Will it be select songs? Or could it be all the RBN songs of that band?

Eventually they plan to, but for the time being, no.

It's not an issue of Microsoft paying HMX to keep it off the other consoles, it's an issue of Microsoft being the only one with the ability to do something like this. HMX said that it took a significant amount of backend work (meaning work on MIcrosoft's end that only Microsoft can do) and Sony is either unable or unwilling to do the same work at this time. That's not to say that HMX isn't trying to get them to do it, but it hasn't happened yet.

this will sound mean but having bought the 599.99 machine i feel i have a right to say it.

many devs have complained about how painfull the PS3 is to work with, what makes you think of gamers would do any better?

IMO - they need to focus on Home, not this

I don't see the ability to test the songs and stuff coming to Wii; frankly, all I want is access to all the songs, not just a fraction of them.
I will not remove this until Badmotorfinger is offered as full-album DLC.

i guess we'll have to see exactly how much comes out of RBN. If indeed 10 songs comes out daily, HMX will have their hands full trying to get tracks over to the other 2 systems, I surely feel for them.

At least they don't have to do this x 2 more consoles. That could = 30 tracks per day per system. Highly doubt HMX would even want to do that. but I could be wrong.

Hell I could care less if we PS3 users could just get a user created pack a week of 15-20. 10 even. It's all fine with me as long as I can eventually play my own song on my own blasted console.

But hell, I just hope RBN makes it's way to the PS3 sooner than later. It would be good for the community but I understand the pain it must create to have to work with such a tricky system. Sure the payout is good, but damn, the work that is needed to be put in can be excruciating.

I would put it as HMX wants the RBN to be on the other systems, but they are having trouble and contacting the other systems' companies to brainstorm how this can work.
