I'm getting ready for the arrival of a Roland HD-1. I plan to "box" my GHWT kit controls, and I've but I need a bit of help.

How did you hook up your HD-1 in order to play Rock Band? Via Guitar Hero drums?

Yep, with GH drums. I just keep the brain and the MIDI interface. And i use the PC with the "MIDIFISH" software to assign the right midi notes to each part of the drums.

But.. you have to have your HD-1 plugged into the PC when playing, right?

Right. you can't reassign midi notes with the HD-1 brain, so i have to use the PC.

I'm a Mac user; could anyone recommend a Midifish equivalent that would help me get the same results?

Has anyone had any luck with using Bome's Midi Translator for OS X?
