Maybe it's just because I'm a big SW fanboy. I've also got a thing for the whole fallen hero thing. And I hate the Jedi Council. Strangely enough the only person who gets a better ending with the light side is Malak. Maybe I should have said Revan was a better villian.

Because unlike most of the FFs, you can't outlevel the monsters. Ironically, once you get one of Quistis' special attacks, leveling in FFVIII is the easiest of all the FFs.

That's the reason I love 8. I am always under leveled in JRPGs so having the enemies my level made the game really easy.

Sorry, I had no idea what else to call it. There are about nine rare monsters running around the world who ask you for a specific item. If you use it on one of them, you can find the next critter in the chain. If you give the last one (which is found on that island with the killer sheep who cast Meteo), it'll weaken Ozma for you, making it vulnerable to physical attacks and shadow damage. Very handy.

You suck at the combat system
Aura + switching characters until one of them inevitably gets a limit break = insanely easy game. Especially with Zell's neverending limit break if you do the combo right.

That one always got harder the more you leveled up. So if he's almost maxed out, the enemies could be crazy.

Or you could just run from everything in the game (except bosses), and you'll beat it easily around level 14.

I was high level as well, and it still wasn't an issue, to be honest.

The FF boss that took me the most tries so far is FFIV's Zeromus, I think. had to level to at least level 55 before I could beat him on the original SNES version (don't know if the remake is just as hard, it seems to be so far, though).

Me either, but I remember lots of customers who like to max out their characters before the final boss tell me that it was a mistake because he whipped up on them.

I only had one nasty part that I can remember, and it involved clicking on one of the items you got to fight a summon-type creature. (Diablo maybe?) He beat me down a bunch!

Diablo was a dirty trick. First time I played he murdered me. And I almost never save in games so I lost probably and hour or so.

Very useful summon, though. FF XIII had some very cool summons. That and Triple Triad were the highlights of a rather bland FF for me. Most boring main characters ever (well, until FFX came around, that is).
