    I think we can all agree that Images And Words and Awake are two of Dream Theater's best albums.

    At the very least, neither is among their worst.

    As I did earlier with ranking DT's studio releases, IaW was in the middle for me (which was very hard for me, because I freaking love Metropolis Pt. 1 and Pull Me Under).

    I always put both in the middle.

    EXACT reason i chose Images and Words.

    while I tend to find myself listening to Awake more often.... If I had to choose one of the albums to die with... it would be Images and Words.

    Awake by quite a big margin, its probably the only Dream Theater album I can still listen to all the way through and not have my patience put to the test. I&W does have Metropolis Pt: 1 but thats the only track that I think stands up to anything on Awake. Also Portnoy's snare sound is god damn awful on I&W.
