I'm probably trying to understand music economics better, but when a band releases an album under a certain label, let's say it is released on Peaceville Records, does the label or the band possess the majority control over the album?

Depends on the contract, I reckon.

I read a bunch of Tool interviews and when they signed a label deal, they wanted 100% control of their music and told the label to keep the money (in a manner of speaking).

So Tool can do what they want when they want.

I sent a letter to the record label RedRum Productions. One of their higher ranking associates, I guess, said that they were interested. Woot! RedRum! RedRum!

I myself would like to know how to contact Hollywood Records. I tried copying the given email at their website, but the email was returned as an invalid email address. Would this be considered Marketing or New Business Inquiries?
