GH5 stands to do very well leading into the holidays. They earned the chance, because they made an outstanding game (relatively speaking, of course). But my personal theory is that Beatles Rock Band is more likely to win the family market than either Lego Rock Band or Band Hero:
- There's more stuff everyone knows.
- You don't have to worry about what's in the content.
- I could be wrong, but I could see quite a few little kids being dazzled by this game. Every time I've tried it at Best Buy, it draws some kids that stop for a second to watch. The test will be when I take it over to my friend's house and see what their 3-year-old Spencer thinks of it.
- Three microphones means more people can participate in a way that isn't complicated. That means grandparents and, once again, little kids. I'm totally going to teach Spencer to sing I Am The Walrus if they let me.
