Sure, because nothing works better than a song where the drums don't come in for about 30 seconds and the guitars for nearly a full minute! I just love watching the vocalist play solo while we all stand around - kind of the opposite of Foreplay/Long Time, or the vox equivalent of Won't Get Fooled Again's drum solo...

By the way from what I hear, the ending cinematic is much more than a little cinematic. It's being referred to as the "Brian's Song of gaming", I'm sure you've heard that floating around on the forums.
Most of the people on the forums are way too young to even know what "Brian's Song" was, so we may need to elaborate on it. It was a tear-jerker of a TV movie from 1971, about Brian Piccolo, a member of the Chicago Bears who died of cancer at age 26.
So, that said, we can expect a poignant song for the finale, if this is correct. And what some people consider "poignant" others consider "corny".

This song would qualify, based on the previous things I've discussed.

Going forward, we should all keep one thought in mind: If it's not a song that provokes a deep emotional response for most of us, it's not likely going to fit the bill. So Across the Universe, while otherwise possibly appropriate, won't cut it. Hey Jude might as well be a vocal solo (unless they add pianos to RB), so I really doubt that too. Help is a great song but not really fitting for a finale...

But, as others said, there's nothing to say that the last song to be revealed is the last song in the game.

Listen, all it means is when we get the game, we can figure it out. No clues in this. It means just what it says. With less than two weeks now, I hope we don't figure out the final song until 9/9/09. It will make it so much better.

Well, duh. It's pretty obvious that we'll know what it is when we get the game, that should go without saying.

There's an old saying among reporters: "Dog Bites Man is not news... now, Man Bites Dog? THAT"s news!"

So, if they said "Even after the game, you'll nevr figure out what the last song is", it would be a statement of interest. No one would simply state "You'll know what the last song is when you play it" unless there was more meaning than the obvious.

Taking everything you see or read at its most obvious face value won't get you very far.

What would be the point of hiding a song that's in the middle of the game?

    You guys are crazy.

To create a lot of buzz. Misdirection is quite often used in marketing, and if anything is "crazy", it's pretending that anyone's going to show you all their cards until the money is on the table.

It doesn't matter where the song falls - the fact is, right now we only know 97% of the playlist, and even YOU surely don't care where that last one is... but you're still dying to know, or at the very least willing to speculate.

But why use that surprise tactic on a minor track instead of something significant like, well, Something?

Why are you assuming it's a "minor track" just because it's not necessarily the final track?

Would any of the songs you're all speculating about be "minor" if they occurred somewhere else in the story?
