Well common belief is that he did, but I'll change it to Keith Moon.

Hendrix asphyxiated on vomit after doing drugs, but didn't actually die from the drugs themselves. This also happened to Janis Joplin and John Bonham.
Cleveland Browns 5-11 (next whenever they start playing again)

That’s not a valid argument though. Have you ever heard of anyone choking to death on their own vomit who wasn’t under the influence?

Edit: I do realize the official cause of death, I’m just saying without the drugs it wouldn’t have happened.

Well, it's the reason why they tell you not to eat before a surgery. So I'm guessing it happened once or twice at least to someone under the knife, which isn't an illegal drug. But I'm sure it's happened while someone isn't drugged up, it has to have.

How? If you're sober and throw up,

    1. You don't choke.

    2. If you did you'd be able to cough it out.

Correct, but they did not overdose. That's why "old age" isn't a valid cause of death anymore. Drugs may have contributed to the death, but the drugs did not actually kill them.

Not to be callous, but his death would have been better remembered down the road had he died in that plane crash.
