Here's a vid for "Burn" by Adam Siegel that was posted recently. It says it's a work-in-progress, but i think it looks pretty good so far. It reminds me of 80's hair metal, but maybe it's just me. Sounds good either way!
RBN is the greatest invention known to man! (Aside from RB3)
http://creators.rockband.com/spec/Drum_Authoring): "Open Hihats on Blue. If it makes sense sonically, and if there aren't a bunch of blue Tom or Cymbal gems in a section of music, an open hihat can be authored on blue." On two of those songs our drummer really uses the contrast between open and closed hihat to delineate his playing in between sections.
But, you're right in that there's a conflict with the crashes sometimes. I may be putting too much emphasis on wrong aspect of the drum part during those sections. I'll add that to the list of things to look into as I revise them. Thanks, man! You just provided our first bit of community review/advise!
- Open hi-hats to blue are used when you have one or two open hits within a stream of closed hits. If the drummer is playing a steady stream of notes with the hi-hat open, I believe those are still supposed to be mapped to yellow.
- Some of your vocal notes that are intended to be slides appear as two separate note tubes because you didn't leave any space between the end of the note with the lyric and the beginning of the note with the +.
- The first word of each vocal phrase needs to be capitalized. Words in the middle of phrases that are not proper nouns shouldn't be capitalized.
- In one of the songs you have a tambourine playing over a backing vocalist part. It is better to have the player sing the backing vocalist's part instead of playing percussion notes there. The only time I know of that HMX did this was in Down With the Sickness, and that was only because the part covered by the tambourine section was too naughty for a T-rated game.
Expect a very detailed critique of your vocal charts from me when you upload these to Creators.
Speaking of Creators, that's still closed, right? I'm not missing a link to login and upload somewhere, am I?
