Thread: No Song Export?

  1. #1

    Thumbs down No Song Export?

Just found out there will be no song export in Rock Band: Beatles. Color me very disappointed. Just canceled my pre-order.

Will pick up the game either used or via rental. I already have two music collections for games--I am not interested in having three. The trend is to build one big music collection--not to have to swap DVDs all the time. Plus, after playing through the game once--I do not see myself wanting to sit down and jam through 24 Beatles songs. Not unusual for me to sit down and play a few dozen songs, but I want some variety.

Still looking forward to the game, but it won't be a permanent collection in my library. Shame....

I don't see why it's a big deal to everyone. Everyone always says it's technical issues, but I'm pretty sure it's because Apple Corps. simply doesn't want the Beatles in the regular game. If they were allowed in the regular game, we probably wouldn't even see this game. Also, all of their hard work and love into this game would go to waste by people getting it just to export.
HMX, I love you. You introduced me to my favorite band, The Beatles. And now you're making a game for my first favorite, Green Day. Thank you so much

Wait and see what they have in store for RB3, possibly an export into that game. Don't hold your breath though.

Sorry that you didn't hear about this sooner. This has been public knowledge for quite a while now.

For a variety of technical and artistic reasons we decided to keep The Beatles: Rock Band a "walled garden", meaning that we'd keep it a standalone experience. It wouldn't feel right for us to have The Beatles play Down With The Sickness in an RB2 club, any more so than it would having Moosejaw Beaudreax singing Get Back on the roof of Apple Studios.

Add in 3 part harmonies, games specific lighting, costumes, animations, venues, dreamscapes, drum fills, etc. and it made more and more sense to have The Beatles: Rock Band exist as it's own title.

I don't enjoy The Godfather any less because it's not on the same dvd as Citizen Kane, and hopefully when you get a chance to play TB:RB you'll be able to enjoy it on its own merits.
