    My opinion

The songs are quite boring to play, but the maximum of 3 vocals was a good idea.

Also my opinion on The Beatles; They're aren't that bad at all, but not a good choise for a game. They are quite overated (No offence) since they're small amount of wannabe rock was popular and they're fans never thought about good rock, including Dream theater, Motorhead, Iron maiden, AC/DC, and others.

The recreation of rock band controllers for them to look like the beatles' real guitars and bass was also quite good.

    Realism: 9/10

    Soundtrack: 5/10

    Graphics: 3/10

Yes, but only 28 out of the 49 songs on PS3/360 are Metallica songs. This seems to be the course for band games from Neversoft to fill half of the setlist with "filler" songs from other bands (or games for that matter *points finger at GH: Van Halen*...). I'd rather have a band game where all the songs on it were from that band. As you eloquently put, a band game should be a ****ing band game.

TB:RB is truly amazing. I have never had so much fun playing this.

My family loves The Beatles and they all said that HMX nailed it and made it just right and they way it should have been.

I seen that most reviewers gave it a 9.0, I would have giving this at least a 9.5

Colors, the music, and the history is just one word, amazing.

Good job EA/HMX, you have a winner here, and look forward to some other great songs on the DLC for The Beatles.

Thanks once again for delivering a top notch game.

Things Which Are Awesome (Not a Comprehensive List)
The dreamscapes are spectacular, especially the ones which present a whole new concert venue like Sgt. Pepper....

The tiny audio touches, like the Beatles chatter upon restarting a song, doing average, doing well, failing etc..

The music sounds great. The mixes are very rich sounding, like the new remasters.

The 1 second shot of a policeman chasing a stumbling teenybopper at Shea is the greatest moment in gaming history.

The interface is very good overall. It's pretty but also very informative and easy to use. I dig the difficulty bars on the difficulty selection screen. Though see below for some suggestions.

The attention to detail in the graphics are also fantastic. I like the attempts to reference real material in the dreamscapes: for example the costumes in Yellow Submarine and the wacky dancing in Hello Goodbye.

Things I've Noticed Which Could Perhaps Use a Tweak
    Vocals
Sometimes it is hard to tell whether the vocal arrow is spot on, or if it is off the line by a small amount. Relatedly:

The difference between Great and Fab should be clearer so one knows when they have filled the circle (or bar) enough. I totally swear seeing a full circle turn into a Great. Maybe I need a HHD TV? Maybe if the circle or bar shimmered or changed color upon hitting Fab.

Talkies should count for something. Maybe have it detect any noise at all to fulfill so the vocalist can do the actual verse or whatever they want, but not nothing. Otherwise there is not too much motivation to hit the breathtaking Oompa Loompas.

    General Interface
The movie sounds are very loud compared to the rest of the audio. Also, the loading chatter is very soft compared to the rest of the audio.

Some of the loading chatter seems to be cut off at the end. "Ladies and gentlemen, the Beat--!"

Could the loading chatter be subtitled?

It would be nice if the Leaderboard menu, like the Quickplay menu, showed whether I've done a particular song and how I did on it. Basically... why isn't the Leaderboard menu a copy of the Quickplay one?

    Gameplay
On Bass, white notes + overdrive yellow + yellow dreamscape = surprise notes from out of nowhere. Also sometimes on expert, the display of my username and instrument icon obscures the rain of gems at the beginning of a song.

Some intros to the songs are so iconic they really should be charted as talkies: "One two three FAH!," "I'd like to thank you on behalf...."

The Challenges mode is kind of unimaginative. How about a metadata-based model like in RB2? An all Ringo-vocal challenge? Sitar challenge? Some of the achievements touch on this, but it could be greatly expanded.

    Conclusion
You're all awesome and you should feel awesome.

    Thumbs up My Review

I think that The Bealtes: Rock Band is amazing. They really worked hard and you can tell. It is not thrown together like Guitar Hero: Aerosmith or Metallica. They worked really hard and it payed off. Although it only has about 45 songs it is still really enjoyable and fun to play. They picked really good Beatles ongs and it was a good game. I would give it a 9.5 out of 10.

    TB:RB concerns for RB3

I'd just like to start off with saying that I'm not a Beatles fan but I gave TB:RB a shot because I liked past Harmonix games. I'm not going to give a review of the presentation and songs because I don't care enough about the band to have a valid opinion, I'm just here to post my concerns over some of the gameplay -- especially in regards to RB3.

I noticed that a lot of what I'm about to say was mentioned in the very first reply to this thread, and probably elsewhere, but it's worth repeating. I remember back when RB2 was coming out and the Everlong music-video trailer was posted, everyone and their dog was saying things like "awesome!" or "I love how psychedelic it is!" And yet I just sat there /facepalming because I knew how much of a distraction something like that would be in the game and sure enough it was. That's kind of how I felt like the gameplay of TB:RB was.

Just like in RB2, the highway is too transparent and with all the moving color in the background, it's just too much. The weird colors of the fret notes blended in well, especially with star power up, it was a pain to see (I play with BS, or SS, btw). It disappointed me because, at this rate, it feels like RB3 will have no highway and it will just be a guessing game of which colored note comes flying out of the music video. I know it's an insult to your art team but -- in both RB2 and TB:RB -- if I could disable the background art and animations and make it nothing but a black screen (ala GH5 focus mode), I would. It shouldn't have to be like that, though, if the fret board was more opaque. The background has enough real estate, no need to try to make it show through the actual game mechanics; the reason why I play the game.

With that said, though, I'm not saying a "focus mode" even needs to be offered since I haven't even personally used it yet...but at least give an option to make the highway more opaque like it is in the GH games. It's easier on my eyes and makes it easier to read in general, and therefore, much more enjoyable. An option like this that you could enable would be nice and it wouldn't change anything for people who already do like looking at the animations instead of performing well. That's about it, though; however, I really couldn't stress what I said enough. I know it won't change in TB:RB but I figured I'd mention it here since I found the color/video much more distracting and maybe you guys will see this and consider implementing an option for an opaque highway in RB3. Otherwise, the game felt fine; played like RB2 besides having to squint more and really concentrate to see the notes.

Review coming from a non-Beatles fan.

    Likes:
I liked how the game was set to take you through the Beatles career. With the screaming girls in the crowd, that was brilliant. The dream scapes were done really well. The challenges per song were nice to unlock pictures. It really made you feel like you wanted to 5-star everything.

    Dislikes:
I really did not like the note chart. It felt too cartoony and childish. I really hope they don't go that way with RB3. As an expert guitar player I felt it was a little bland but understandably so. The challenge mode was very uncreative. It's pretty much the same as the story mode.

Other than that I felt this game was "handled with care." Meaning that HMX put a lot of effort into making this a true Beatles experience.

Once again, I'm not that big of a Beatles fan but I had fun running through the set list once. Will I go back to it to get achievements on other instruments, probably not. I did not buy this game I only rented it and probably won't play it again b/c I really can't stand the note highway.

The only probelm i have with this game is when you deploy beatlemania. Sometimes the yellowish color along with the background to some songs (Like in the abby road studio songs) sometimes makes me lose track of the notes that come up (and im sure this happens to others as well). If there was a way to kinda darkin the fret board or the beatlemania (a thing you could put in the options menu for players to change the lighting) that would be great.
