I got the game last night and got the band together, we've been looking forward to this for a while.
The game looks and plays really well. As others have stated, I sometimes had trouble keeping my eyes on the note charts and instead found myself focusing on the background.
After 2 1/2 hours, the disappointment set in. We went through all the songs with gold stars on 75% of them, and 5 stars on the rest (we don't have a vocalist). Two or three more times through the songs we didn't gold star and we'll be done with the game.
I knew that the 3 part harmonies was in the game, but I feel as though the game was created with this being the priority. This should have been a game that I rented, not purchased. For 60 bucks, I ended up with 45 short songs (close to half of what Rock Band 2 had). Overall I think this game was designed as a cash grab. DLC is popular no doubt, but releasing a game at full price with a small song list with the intention of releasing full albums in the future for probably 20 bucks a pop leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
It is for these reasons I am disappointed. I will probably trade the game in, I'm not going to continue to drop more cash to reach a point where I feel a game is complete.
