My two cents; if he never liked the RB2 instruments, he shouldn't have been assigned to review the latest RB instruments. It's like if I hated the band Avenged Sevenfold and someone asked me to write a review for their latest album. Of COURSE I'm going to have more complaints and issues with it than a fan or a random user. They should have had a second opinion review by someone who actually likes RB instruments.

The PS3 is sold at a loss by Sony... you can't really compare the cost of the RB bundle to the cost of the console because they're selling the console for less than it costs to make with the intent to make up the difference on sales of games, peripherals, and DLC.

The drums, guitar, mic and stand together is worth more than the system.

"the reason it is overpriced is BECAUSE the RB2 bundle is more than half its cost but offers essentially the same thing."

Because they are on clearance. So you are saying if they werent on clearence the Beatles bundle wouldnt be a rip off? Just a question.
the drums, guitar, mic and stand together are about as useful as the box they come in without the console. the console, on the other hand, can do quite a lot on its own.

    ---

if the RB2 bundle was priced at its regualr $160, i would still consider the beatles bundle overpriced. note that i said 'overpriced' and not 'a rip off.' i don't think anyone is getting ripped off by buying the bundle.

well then we'd need a a review by someone who is indifferent about the instruments. and maybe one by someone that sort of likes them but likes the GH instruments more. and another by someone who really likes them but also likes the GH drums. but not the GH guitar.

    get over it.

there are dozens of reviews that tout this games brilliance. why is everyone so fixated on hilary goldsteins opinion?

what is the point again? i think the 360 or the ps3 or heck, even the wii are worth more than the beatles bundle. i think the ratio of what you get versus its cost is much higher in the case of a console than i do in the case of a game bundle.

is that more to the point?

is there another point i'm missing?

i think the bundle is overpriced. i think that you get roughly the same stuff at a considerable difference in cost when buying the rb2 bundle. a mic stand alone is not worth $90 on a bad day, $150 on a good day in my opinion.

    is that the point?

what point would you like me to make...i think i've been pretty clear in my opinion about these two things.

    "what is the point again?"

That the contents of the bundle are worth more than the system its played on. You deflected by stating they are useless with out the system. But thats besides the point.

"i think i've been pretty clear in my opinion about these two things."

Its also clear that you would rather ignore the facts and deflect. Have your opinion all you want, I just hope you realize it doesnt make sense.

    But whatever.

the contents of the bundle are worth more than the systems they are played on only because they cost more. so, yeah, i guess you're right. they're worth more because they cost more.

i think the console is more sound purchase.

if you start with nothing, you can buy an xbox, the beatles game and the rock band bundle for $360.

you can also buy an xbox, rb2 and the beatles bundle, but that would cost you $510.

the extra $150 gets you a mic stand and a prettier guitar.

    i think i'll go with plan A.

    that is my point.
