So I'm testing everything out, all seems fine except the select, start, and guide button (360 versions), but then I remember "wait a minute I had to hit the guide button to turn the drums on", I figure it out, basically you have to press and hold for a second each one to get it to work, is this intentional since you may accidentally drum over these buttons?

Yes, its a feature, it's to stop you from pausing the game by accident during play.

Im glad they did this. Its really pisses your friends off when you are rocking out and you accidently hit the guide button.
They all go "WHAT THE HELL?????"
