    Upgrading question

We currently have Rockband with a PS2 console. We want the Beatles Rockband, which means we have to upgrade our console. The kids really want a wii because of all the cool games with it. Question: If we get a Wii and the Beatles Rockband software for Wii, can we use our existing instruments that we got with Rockband/PS2? We have 2 guitars, a microphone and a drum set. (one of the guitars came with the Rockband set we got initially, and the other we got separately)

PS2 controllers won't work with the Wii. If you get a PS3 I think the instruments should work.

No, sadly you can't. You'll have to buy a new set of instruments specifically for the Wii.

The good news is that if you're comfortable with the Rock Band 1 instruments, then upgrading is cheap with The Beatles Rock Band Value Edition. It has a set of Rock Band 1 guitar, drums, and mic but comes with The Beatles Rock Band for only $140 (on Amazon.com; list price is $160). If you want to upgrade with Rock Band 2 instruments (they're way better, trust me), then the entire Rock Band 2 bundle (game included!) is only $100 now (on amazon.com; list price is $160) and then Rock Band: The Beatles by itself is $60 (yes, even on Wii).

    Here's some links:

The Beatles: Rock Band Value Edition (Wii): http://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Rock-S...2530677&sr=8-7

Rock Band 2 Special Edition (Wii): http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Rock-Band-...2530695&sr=8-2

The Beatles: Rock Band (Wii): http://www.amazon.com/Beatles-Rock-B...2531107&sr=1-3

Have fun. I love parents who bring good music like this to their kids.

Oops, I forgot about that. You could do that too.

PS3 is only $299 now, and compared to the Wii's $249 it isn't that much more. I'm guessing you chose Wii initially due to wanting more kid-friendly games, though, right?
