I learned something I didn't know tonight.
I stand by my assertion that the lyrics are wrong in Rockband on A Hard Day's Night.
In the second verse the game says "So why on earth should I moan" and it should be "So why I love to come home"
However, when this verse is repeated near the end of the song the correct words are "So why on earth should I moan". I never noticed this line in the song.
The sheet music does not have the "So why on earth should I moan" because it always basically is a repeat of the first time it is said.
Don't take my word for it, listen to the song.
But when you do and find that I am right, give me props.
Arlen, you're wrong, not the game.
It's "So why on earth should I moan" each and every time. It's a common lyrical mistake that people make about this song.
Besides, "so why I love to come home" doesn't make sense in the context of the song lyrics anyway if you'd stop to think about it. John's complaining about a long hard day('s night), being tired and working like a dog. But then he says, "so why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone I feel allright." Saying that ..."I shouldn't complain about all this nonsense, because my girl's gonna make me feel allright once I get her alone."
"So why I love to come home" doesn't make grammatical sense.
And don't trust Hal Leonard either, I'll bet he got the chords wrong too.
I would place your trust in Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Dhani Harrison, as well as Giles Martin, over a third party book publisher. The lyrics are correct as shown in the game. You are welcome to your own interpretation but the game is factually correct.
