If they DO go with the 3 part harmony for RB3, I doubt all of the other songs will be charted with it.

There are some songs that MIGHT work with harmony, but honestly, the majority of the music is only 1 lead singer. Can you imagine trying to harmonize ...And Justice for All by Metallica?

I just don't think it would work very well with a ton of the songs that are already out. I think they should either just leave it with TB:RB OR start a new series of games with harmony as a main staple.

    Just a thought....

In the Practice Mode for practicing harmonies, is there any way to raise the volume of the pitch guide? I struggle to hear how a particular harmony should sound because it is sometimes drowned out by background vocals. This is even when I choose the option to lower background vocals.

Well obviously they won't just be inventing harmonies for songs (like AJFA) that don't originally have them. But his question was whether songs that DO have them would get them charted.

No official answer has been given about that, but as for my opinion, I seriously doubt it.

If the other singers are, for example, 2 seconds behind you, how are you supposed to know which vocal line they're singing and which one you're supposed to sing?

That's why it can only be done locally. There's no way for the 3-singer functionality to work correctly with lag.

Have you not sung vocal harmonies in TB:RB? It makes no difference what anyone else is singing, you can sing whichever part you want. You can even switch between them at random.

On the other hand, if you are trying to double fab or triple fab you simply stick to your own vocal line, designated by color. Again you don't need to see what others are doing in realtime.

Sorry to correct you but network latency is not an issue here.

Except that it is. It doesn't matter if YOU need to see what others are doing in realtime. The game itself does, to properly calculate Double and Triple Fabs.

The problem with hearing vocals is the amt of data that needs to be encoded/decoded/streamed.
Passing tiny bits of info in realtime is no problem or the whole online thing wouldn't work at all.

The joke response (and my favourite one) was always "Why do you want to harmonize with people you can't even hear?"

On the vocal harmonies in RB3...I think it's a strong possibility. HMX likes to work forward with their features, and there was a surplus of songs released that sound perfect for double/triple harmonies at one point. Like with HO/PO chords, I think these might have been put into DLC early. While we may never see vocal harmonies in our Boston or Pixies songs (), we may see them in our Evanescence songs for example. Some of the song in TB:RB on solo vocals reminded me of how the regular vocals songs would be charted in Rock Band, sometimes switching between singers mid-phrase for the most fun with one person. (Twist and Shout ahhhh's)
