Awesome work Noble. For all you X-Box 360 Hair Metal compatriats with access to the RBN, conratulations. Just please do all of us PS3 owners a huge favor and don't gleam about it too much. At best, we have to wait 30 days to get to play them. At worst, we NEVER get to play them.

i love poison (one of my hair faves), but "unskinny bop" is so bad... i'd honestly rather get something from a hair metal band i dislike entirely (def lep, steelheart, etc.).

Was listening to Harem Scarem today, they would be a good choice for after rockband 3 as the have some nice piano parts in them. I almost forgot about this band.

What's with all the Poison hate, especially Unskinny Bop? It's cheesy as hell but that's just the territory with hair metal. Unskinny Bop has a great riff in my opinion and whilst it isn't one of my favourites I would still buy it. Nothin' but a Good Time and Every Rose are great fun to play in GH5/Band Hero.

It looks like we finally will get some hair music down the round either through Noble or some tracks off of Rock Band 3. Does anyone know the tenative release date for Rock Band 3?

On a side note I'm going to my last concert of the summer this coming Sunday at the PNC Arts Center. Although Iron Maiden isn't a hair band there music is second to none and they continue to put out quality music in this decade just as well as in the 80's.

    Up the Irons!

there's no official RB3 release date, but it looks like it will probably be late september or october, though i think i've also seen the last week of august thrown around a bit.

these damn games are the first i've kept up with like this since mortal kombat came out for the SNES!

While "Unskinny Bop" wouldn't be my first choice from Poison (would actually be like #6), there is no way I would turn my nose up at it if that's all they offered us.
Still waiting for an 80's Hair Band pack of NUMEROUS artists.

I've never been the biggest fan of Poison, but I like them well enough to still own their greatest hits on CD. If HMX were to release a solid 6-pack of their 80s hits, that would pretty much be all the Poison I would need.

Oh man, I am so jealous. At work, a couple of colleagues of mine just e-mailed me a photograph. The caption of the e-mail was "Bet you didn't realize two of your favorite colleagues are rock-stars!" I opened the photograph, and there there are right next to Bret Michaels. They got to meet and greet with him. If I had known they were going to do that, I'd have asked them to ask about Rock Band! Of course, the other part of me wanted to make a remark about him possibly tagging them both. lol.

    Songs of the day...

1st up is an awesome song, by Bill Withers....(Non hair tune of the day)

    Ain't No Sunshine

Next up, is well, I call the borderline hair, some call them straight up hard rock, personally I think they had there hands in forming what was considered "Glam" in the 80's....

"Fair Warning" is highly regarded by guitarists as a pinnacle of the classic Van Halen period and a double platinum recording. "Push Comes to Shove", features what many consider to be Edward Van Halen's finest solo. The album also featured classics such as "Unchained" and "Mean Streets"....I have to say this tune embodies the best of the Hair/Glam movement that was the 80's, and it does not hurt that this tune is a guitar players dream...

Van Halen - Fair Warning - Push Come To Shove

Here is a reference list that I sometimes go to for bands that I want to learn more about. ( There are quite a few missing from this list though).

List of glam metal bands and artists

Here is the Band of the Day....(Should have been bigger than they where)

LILLIAN AXE - Ghost of Winter

Lillian Axe is a hard rock band from the late '80s & early '90s who write and perform music from acoustic ballads to full out heavy metal anthems. Four studio recordings were released (Lillian Axe, Love + War, Poetic Justice, and Psychoschizophrenia) before they disbanded in 1995. In 1999, they re-united and released a B-side recording, Fields of Yesterday, and a live CD, Live 2002. The most known line-up was Ron Taylor (lead vocals), Steve Blaze (lead guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Jon Ster (rhythm guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Rob Stratton(bass guitar), and Danny King(drums). Their biggest hits are "Dream Of A Lifetime", from their debut, & "True Believer", "No Matter What", "Body Double" and "See You Someday", all from their 1992 album, Poetic Justice which peaked on the Billboard Top Heatseekers at #28.
After several lineup changes, the band, with Blaze still its leader, released Waters Rising featuring lead singer Derrick LeFevre, in 2007. LeFevre remains lead singer on the June 2009 release, Sad Day on Planet Earth. They are currently signed to Blistering Records.
On May 16, 2010, at the LMHOF Louisiana Music Homecoming in Erwinville, LA, Lillian Axe became the first hard rock group to be inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame.
