I first knew about the Beatles when I was about five years old, when the anthology series was being released. I thought they were quite cool, but didn't really pay much attention. The same things happened when their album 1 was released. However, over five years ago, I decided to listen to my brother's MP3 player, and decided to play the album, Abbey Road. With a familiar starter (Come Together), I was hooked to the entire album. I thought the music was just incredible. I then listened to Revolver, which was just as powerful. More and more was I getting into the Beatles, and eventually I was able to hear their entire music. They have come to be my favorite band since, and when The Beatles: Rock Band was getting released, it was truly a dream come true.

I had heard plenty of Beatles songs growing up, but never really got into them.
This game did however get me to respect the Beatles, they still aren't anywhere near my favorite band though but I respect them and like some songs from them.

Whoever created the Beatles cartoon that I use to watch when I was 6 or so.
    Loverboy - Turn Me Loose
Moving Pictures - What About Me
Pretenders - I'll Stand By You

Right before the game came out there was a lot of press on tv. I watched one episode of Beatles Anthology on VH1 and i was hooked ever since. My parents loved the Beatles before but i never really cared for.

    Harmonix.
I put the disc in (knowing this band was awesome to listen to) and just fell in love from the beginning to end.
Than i got an addiction to their music, bought the dlc and cds off itunes.
Now, i rarely listen to them.. i overplayed the stuff too much.

Hah! I started reading this thread never expecting anyone else to have "Stars On 45" as the driving force behind their path to Beatles Buggery, (bad language, sorry).

1981, I was 14. I'd heard a lot of their songs but wasn't interested in band names, just the music, who cares who it's by?

Earlier that year my dad bought me my first stereo and, whilst I listened to music on BBC Radi0 1, I was never that interested. (I had a bike. There was nothing interesting indoors during a balmy English summer).
I decided I needed a record to play on my shiny new Toshiba flat stereo and I liked the new 'Stars On 45' single so I bought it with that weeks paper round money. It was the only record I owned so I listened to it over and over. The vocals on the part where they shouted something about '...no reply...'
got me hooked. I can't remember how I found out that this wasn't an original song, that it was a medley of music by a band with a stupid name, but I wanted to hear the full version of that '...no reply...' bit.
So I bought the 'Red Album' (1962-1966).
I spent the next 2 years saving paper round money and buying their albums in chronological sequence.
I've spent the last 30 years buying their solo albums, hitting hrd times, selling their solo albums, picking up a bit buying the cds, buying books and...recently...playing the game.
(PS - I do listen to other music too. The fact I'm currently listening to Ringos' 'Love Is A Many Splendoured Thing' is purely a result of this game and a sudden interest in their remastered catalogue).

My friend Abigail had Beatles:Rock Band at her house, so I went to her house once, and I played it. I fell in love with the Beatles music.

My memories on this are somewhat shakey because I was born in 1965 and my first exposure to the Beatles was when I was a baby. My father was a huge HiFi maven. He loved the technology of audio gear and owned a Quadrophonic sound system. He had a test record (used for balancing all four speakers) which in addition to a British voice declaring what speaker you were listening to, some tones for frequency response, also included a very abbreviated cover of a Beatles song (can't remember which one) performed on all brass instruments.

When I was around 7 years old (1972) my mother took my brother and I to a record store and said we could each buy one album. The only record I personally owned at that age was the soundtrack to Lady and the Tramp. I decided that I wanted something else movie related and had my heart set on the soundtrack to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but the store didn't have it. I kept thumbing through the albums and came across The Yellow Submarine. The cover looked like so much fun (and reminded me so much of the Peter Max phone books that the Yellow Pages were enamored with at the time and I loved) that I bought it on the spot.

My brother and I shared a record player that you could play 45s and 33s on. It was a chunky sort of thing made out of particle board covered in tolex and looked exactly like this, except it was grey not red. I played that Yellow Submarine album (which I still own BTW. Have the Lady and the Tramp album still too) about a million times. The movie itself became a new years eve tradition on local television and when I was a little older I watched it every year at midnight new year's eve.

I became a little obsessed with the Beatles. I was especially obsessive about all the rumors and strange "hints" and "clues" hidden in the recordings. About Paul being dead etc.

When I was 12 years old, I had my first dance with a girl to the song "Michelle" at summer camp.
When I was 14, and had a clock radio with an 8 track player in it, I would carefully queue up the song "I'm Only Sleeping" to wake up to for school.

The Beatles remained my number one favorite band until around 1977 when Emerson, Lake & Palmer took over that top slot. ELP remained my #1 for the next 35 years and the Beatles did begin to slip from that top slot stopping at around number 7 or so for me. Even ELP didn't keep the top of my list forever, around 2008 they were replaced by Gentle Giant.

The Beatles will however be the very first Rock and Roll band that I ever was a fan of and will always hold a very special place in my heart and soul.
