Good to see you're going through with this, I'll be keeping my eyes open from these songs once RBN launches, I'll be getting these for sure.

The preview also looks pretty good, I agree that hopefully you'll do a bit with the animations, but like JPSChampagne said, I'm sure that isn't your top priority. Looking forward to seeing the final product and hopefully some of CJ's other songs in the future.

Oh a definitely do more with the animation. Creating film and theatre are two of my biggest passions, so I'm all about a well crafted performance. I'm still learning the tools, and I'm sure it will take me a lot longer to be satisfied with the animations then the charts.

I've actually started working on another song for a different artist while I wait on some files from CJ, but I already tweaked some things after Andrew's pointers, and there will be more from CJ down the road (hopefully even more than "Tell Me Why")

Honestly, I can't hear them at all either, so you're probably best off taking them out.

Also, I think it would make more sense to chart the open hat parts during the chorus to yellow rather than blue. That way, you can chart those snare+crashes to red+blue rather than red+yellow. Also, I'm pretty sure you're missing a hi-hat hit right before those snare+crash parts.

Looking good though. I'm definitely interested to see the guitar track and all the other songs' note charts.

I believe it's 35.2.500 (around 1:14 or so on the youtube video).

I am listening to it on youtube, so there's a chance that I'm mistaken. It's a little hard to tell since he's playing accents on the hi-hat.

The drum and bass are actually completely digital creations (wonder why i did them first? :P ). I checked the raw midi and there is no note there.

The mix will be a lot clearer in my next video, as CJ is currently uploading to me the masters. (I couldn't wait and have been working from an mp3 this whole time).

I took your advice. Here's a new preview vid, now with 100% more guitar and vocals!

I haven't done anything with the venue track but adding sing alongs, so don't mind that just yet.

Watching your venue track, I noticed a lot of the directed cuts are too close to other camera cuts, which results in a couple fast cuts that feel out of place. M38 or so is a drummer directed cut where he spins his sticks, that one is best used for when the drummer isn't playing and is about the come in, as is it looks silly since the drums are in fact playing.

Did you change the lighting at all during the song? Almost looks like it is set to default the entire time.

I bet you hit (or came close) to the limit for directed cuts

Like I said I haven't done anything to the venue track but add in sing alongs and some directed cuts. Everything else is what Magma auto generated. I did notice there are a lot of fast cuts and that odd part on drums, I plan to change all that but I'm still working on the charts right now. Thanks for looking
