K, so I'm looking at accomplishments and I notice a lot of them ask you to earn expert gold stars. What does that mean?

Well, on each song you get rated by stars. You might get 4, 5, etc. The highest rating you can get is gold stars, which can be difficult to get sometimes and require you to play on expert.

Welcome to the Rockband Forums.
Its a score threshold. Its all about scoring high on the expert setting.
You can do it solo or as a band as lomg as everyone is on expert.
