That they did, and didn't since DLC was just Jimi alone yet same albums. Basically GH trying to rush the market with a big name. If we want to get technical, even GH overlooked some lableing like Band On The Run is really by Paul McCartney & Wings,

Courtney owns the main 3, and Kurt basically. The masters of the rest are with other people, Sub Pop owns all of Bleach

That they did, but probably because they were just trying to rush the deals with Hendrix Estate (2 packs from him, but no transfer for that either was a sign something wasn't right to begin with.)

I think the reason they excluded Hendrix from the export was they didn't want to pony up twice. And I don't see how rushing the deal would amount in the complete crediting of the full band.

I don't mind. Everything by Hendrix is listed as "Jimi Hendrix" in my mp3 collection, regardless of whether it's solo, Experience or Gypsys. Makes it easier to find his body of work1

I thought the Big Brother & the Holding Company was a big snub, totally uncalled for. The Hendrix vs Experience issue would be less of an issue, but I still really, really want it correctly titled (if it is indeed the album track, which I hope!).

You would think HMX would strive to appropriately label all the songs they release. It's really not that hard to look this stuff up and get it right.

PS. Big Brother/Janis still pisses me off. So what if it's off Janis' greatest hits album. It's like if Layla was credited to Eric Clapton instead of Derek and the Dominos. If they ever pull that move, I'll love HMX for finally releasing some Clapton, but god damn, get the labeling right and respect the artists associated with the music!

I would argue that HMX labels songs exactly as they are told to do in the contract that liscenses such songs???
