Devo - "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA"
The Red Hot Chili Peppers - *Self titled*. The RHCP are my favorite band, but good god, those combinations of funk and rap were only for the most...exotic taste in music. Even there next album (Freaky Styley) was MILES better than the debut.

Hmm......
Queen - "Queen": While the album isn't that bad, compared the the legendary albums coming in the following few years make me yearn for more when I hear this.
AC/DC - "High Voltage": While the international version is considered one of their finest albums, this Australian only debut was very much bland in comparison.
Umm right now that's all I can think of...

Rush's debut is awesome. You guys are not.![]()

So has everyone ****ting on Scars on Broadway heard Serj's solo album? It's way worse.
I actually like the Scars album a lot. But I also think Hypnotize and Mezmerize are the best System of a Down albums.
Anyway, Warren Zevon's debut, Wanted Dead or Alive is really kind of not good.
Saw thread title, instantly thought "Scars on Broadway", glad to see lots of people ****ting on it too. Daron sucks at singing and writing lyrics, and the music is for the most part just plain bland. Only thing consistently good about the album is John behind the kit.
And McGerkey, I have heard Serj's album, and it's miles better. Much more variety, catchier, and it's sung by someone who can actually write passable-to-good lyrics in a voice that's not totally grating.
As for other debut albums...I don't like dredg's "Leitmotif" all that much. Too out there musically, spends too much time kind of meandering, and it has all those goddamn interruptions with the Movements. "El Cielo" was much more focused (although still, all those damn interruptions).
