I've really been liking Godspeed You Black Emperor! recently, and I was wondering what some other good Post-Rock was. I know there is a ton of other stuff out there but i don't have the slightest clue what is good and what are "imitators".

The best Post Rock band ever is Sigur Rós. Although they are very different than most Post Rock bands out there.

I'm routinely disappointed that no one but me brings up Bark Psychosis any time there's a post-rock discussion. They're the original post-rock band!
Also, if you want a deeper understanding of the genre listen to Second Edition (aka Metal Box) by Public Image Ltd. And if you want something completely different, try Emperor Tomato Ketchup by Stereolab.It's good to be happy. There's no hope.
