This could be the single dumbest or most ignorant thing I've ever read on this forum. And I've been here almost since the beginning!

    +1

I don't know of many Beatles fans that don't put Abbey Road near the top of the list.

    X Bass
    H Guitar

Think about the average person's intelligence and remember that half of us are dumber than that.

That's an easy one. You should bear in mind the overall message I posted, not just pick up one sentence.
I was referring to my family, my wife and children and most of the younger friends who come playing TB:RB in our house.
Most of them like the more poppy songs of the Beatles. Hey , popmusic was in it's teens when Abbey Road was recorded. The MAINSTREAM record buying audience bought singles not albums.
Everything was POP music, no alternative, hiphop, rock and roll etc.
Hardrock was more or less triggered by Black Sabbath with Paranoid.
Sly Stone played Woodstock. Offcourse there were serious musiclovers who appreciated the more complex or "meaningfull" music.
Or purists who swore not to listen to any music close to 'pop".
And YES, Abbey Road is and was a great album. But not for the single buying, MAINSTREAM audiance.
    Still love you all

But you said most Beatles fans skip this album... which simply is not the case, most casual fans do not skip the album. Come Together and Here Comes the Sun are favorites from the *casual fans* and fans who do buy the albums, surely love the album.

At least get Polythene Pam/She came in through the bathroom window.

    Such an underrated song.

    Then get

Oh Darling, Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End, Because and Maxwells Silver Hammer.
Purchased the ones you mentioned except "Because". Saving some points for Sgt. Peppers......
