    YES to U2;
    NO to bandalone games.

Exportable band game, track pack, DLC = teh big yes, but
non-exportable band games = teh great big HELL no.

Like them or not, U2 is way more deserving of a band game then most others. Aside from Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin, U2 is about the biggest band to still not be in a game.

With that said. I DO NOT want any more band games. Beatles had some nice things about it, but overall it was a waste. I played it for a couple of weeks and was done. Lego RB will be much more enjoyable and worth it because when I'm done I can export the songs.

Anyway. No matter what band you mention there's always going to be hating on them. Personally I get sick of hearing about Muse and Coheed and Cambria all the time because I think those bands are way overrating and awful.

    THANKS FOR GREEN DAY!

Remaining Band Requests: U2, Cake, Live

U2 has literally billions of fans....therefore, by extension, they also have billions of h8rs who think that "popular" is a dirty word.

HMX making a band-specific game after the Beatles would just be a downgrade. I don't think people realize as much how big the Beatles actually were. My dad was born in 1960 so was only a small kid at the time, and he clearly remembers songs he hasn't heard in 30 years just because he couldn't escape them, and he's not even that big of a fan. When we play TBRB, he surprises me by knowing the songs I thought to be more obscure very clearly. I honestly didn't think the mainstream knew songs like Dear Prudence, I Want You, And Your Bird Can Sing, Birthday, and he even asked if Rocky Raccoon was in the game.

Now ask yourself, was U2 like that? Do people in that time period remember almost all of their songs decades after, people who weren't huge fans?

Another thing I sort of realized about the Beatles that makes them unique... They changed so much from 1963 to 1969, so much faster than any other band possibly could. And in this short time, they were incredible throughout. They ended on a great note. U2 is just kind of old and washed out now. I don't know, I think part of the reason they're still so popular is the fact that they weren't around for a long time.
HMX, I love you. You introduced me to my favorite band, The Beatles. And now you're making a game for my first favorite, Green Day. Thank you so much

The amount of ignorance in this thread about U2's place in rock history continues to stagger me.

U2 exploded onto the scene in 1982, and they haven't let up since. They have been the BIGGEST band in the world in the 1980s, the 1990s, and the 2000s, bar none. NOBODY out there today has sold out as many stadiums and arenas as U2.

And yes, those of us who grew up with them still remember every single song, still play every single album, and their music, both old and new, is absolutely ubiquitous.....you can't escape it, even if you wanted to.

It amazes me how so many youngsters SERIOUSLY think U2 didn't even happen until "Beautiful Day."

My god, U2 OWNED the 1980s and early 90s, and had one short 3-year speed bump after Pop crashed before regaining their global throne with All That You Can't Leave Behind.

And even Pop, their ONLY "failure," is still a PLATINUM-selling album, for chrissake.

    LEARN something about U2. Jeebuz.

One where it starts out in the 1960's with Black Sabbath and their rise to fame, then follows Ozzy through his solo career and perhaps Sabbath through their history. If the Sabbath history would be too much to add, then just have it be an Ozzy game with his story starting out with Black Sabbath.

The game would appeal to a wide array of age groups, and the songs would all be a blast to play on all instruments. The only problems with it would be getting the rights to the songs from Sharon without there being a massive fee associated, and also getting Ozzy and Sabbath to agree to be in the same game. (I'm pretty sure they're not on an Axl Rose and Slash type of situation, but I also don't think they're buddy-buddy with each other).
I feel like this could be the best choice possible, assuming they did another band game, and assuming they could get usuable masters for Sabbath/Ozzy

At the split, you could be able to play Black Sabbath with Dio, or switch to Ozzy and his band's career any time. It would be long enough, but still, its a shame it probably would never happen

    Wut.

I think U2 more than deserves their own game due to sales and fans. I'm not their biggest fan, but I'd love to play a game made of their music. They're not the band I'd want to see most, but I definately think the star power is there and the sales could be as well.

In response to the snarky, sarcastic person that suggested U2 hasn't performed a memorable concert: I give you the following.

-Live at Red Rocks, 1983 - called by Rolling Stone one of the 50 Moments that Changed Rock n' Roll History
-Live Aid, 1985 - their performance and Queen's were arguably the 2 highlights
-Zoo TV Tour, 1992-1993 - called by Q Magazine "still the most spectacular rock tour staged by any band"
-PopMart Tour, 1997 - the band puts on the first concert in Sarajevo since the war ended
-Super Bowl Half-Time Show, 2002 - the band puts on a memorable show and tribute to 9/11 victoms. SI.com called it the best Super Bowl Half-Time show ever

Since no one seems to be actually discussing specific music by U2 that would justify this type of game, I will.
