Lego Rock Band Tour Mode?

I looked all over the forum and couldn't find this anywhere... how does the main tour/story mode work on this game? Is it like rock band 2's world tour or more similar to the beatles?

I've wondered this for a long, long time. thank you!

It's mostly similar to RB2's. The presentation is a bit different, but you're still able to bounce around from one venue to another as you collect fans and stuff to unlock more venues. You don't have to play every gig in a venue to move on, and there are make-a-setlists and mystery-setlists that you can do

And there are challenges where there is no overdrive but you and tour teammates all fail together or rock together, like GHWT
