    questions about guitar playing

Just wondering if anyone uses a pick when they play Rockband?
Also, does anyone use the smaller fret keys at the base of the neck? It says you can use these without strumming at all. That is only for solos right?

my older brother plays the rock band guitar with a pick and still does bad

and yes you can use the smaller fret keys for solos but sometimes for me its harder to use them since im more used to the normal buttons at the top,i would only use the smaller keys on Solo E in Satch Boogie, when you have to keep pressing orange and hold the other button, sometimes i FC that part

I only play with the high frets, as I wore out the main set.

I can't even play with the main buttons now, I bet.

same for me, i used to play with the standard frets, but i got a massive burn last summer and i couldnt use a strap (mind you i always play standing)
so i had no choice but play sit, and i found it awkward to use the main frets on a pc chair, so i started using only the high frets exclusively...

now i cant use the main frets anymore, but i think it looks cooler with the high frets anyway :P
and i can shred those solos with more ease

I tried using a pick and did awful so I don't recommend it.

Use lower frets sometimes but tend to mess up more.

I think using a guitar pick is more common than most players think. I don't personally use one and would never recommend it. I couldn't imagine how difficult it would be to use a pick during fast alt-strumming or the harder solos.

Why exactly would you use a pick for playing? Just asking.

Who uses a pick for playing Rock Band? I don't see the advantage.

Using a pick is more for real guitar players that are making the transition into the game. I know I used to use one when I first starting playing because it felt so strange playing a guitar with only my thumb and pointer finger. After awhile, I gave up the pick because I got used to just using my fingers. I still use a pick for songs with fast alternate strumming/picking as I find it easier.

But, yeah, generally, the majority of people that use a pick when playing RB are guitar players for real.
