How is it an oversight? If something's not working properly it's irresponsible to release it anyway.

This goes for the RB1 export, LRB, export and future RB2 export. There are also a few DLC choices that I regret that I'd like to remove from my song list.

As our songs lists grow it becomes more time consuming to get to the songs I want to play. It's not a deal breaker by any means but it seems like an easy request that quite a few people want. Unless there are licensing issues which prevent HMX from implementing something like this. Only they know.

Although some have speculated that there's some sort of licensing restriction that would prevent a song-disabling feature, I honestly can't fathom that being a problem. As long as someone buys an artist's song, I'm sure the artist could care less if the buyer later decides to delete/"turn off" that song.

Instead of releasing a game with 45 songs that were hand-picked by (presumably) someone at Travelers Tales, wouldn't it have been better to see those 45 songs show up as DLC (spread out over time, of course) that we could all cherry-pick through?

The pro- and con- of discs is quite simple: pro --- you're buying in bulk; con --- you have to settle for songs that someone else (not you) picks. It *does* expose you to songs that you would have never even dreamed of buying as DLC, and some of those will become hidden gems for you. But others will become lumps of coal that you're better off without.

Personally, I'm all for ditching discs altogether and sticking with a song library that YOU assemble yourself. Just like iTunes.
Not everybody has an internet connection. If you don't have internet access, or your access is really slow, disc-based games are your only hope. Start removing physical discs, and you remove the ability for people to play your game.

I would only support a "turn song off" feature for local quickplay. However I've seen many argue in support of the feature simply so they wouldn't have to play certain harder songs to beat specific portions of the game.

I would not support any kind of song-disable feature for online play. Especially on-disc songs. It's hard enough finding DLC in common without now adding people who block disc songs on top of that.

Nothing new here, but I have that T-Hybrid must be talking about me syndrome.

I struggled with the question "why should I buy LRB" as a good portion of the music is stuff I don't like. I had zero interest in this game until I heard that it would export. I was hoping that they'd give us the option to delete songs that we don't want like the RB1 export list. In the end, there's about 18-20 songs that I really liked and would want to play in RB2. Knowing that these most likely will never be released as DLC, I figured the only way to get these songs is to buy this "Track Pack". I had a $25 GC and the Gamestop I bought from gave me an employee discount (it's a long story). So, for a total of $30 out of my pocket, I get my 20 songs (cheaper than DLC) It just sucks that I'll have to deal with the garbage that comes with them. I'm guessing that there's probably 5-10 that'll grow on me anyways, but we really should be able to cherry pick these things...it's not like the AC/DC track pack where the band was demanding that we have to have the whole album or nothing.

So you're right. I probably should have skipped this one like I did with the Beatles. It really is a marginal product with the limited setlist, but at least they didn't charge us full boat in the States.

For something like World Tour mode, on disc songs could still be hard coded to play in certain venues as they are now and I agree disabling on disc songs say in RB3 would not be a good idea. Since all exported and downloaded songs are optional within such a game, they will not effect scoring for leader board trackers. I do support disabling DLC and exported songs from online play. If I don't want to play an optional song, I don't want to be forced to whether I'm online or offline.
I'm not religious, but God bless you HMX for including Def Leppard, God bless you!

I would prefer to be able to choose to delete some of the lego exported songs, but all or nothing....no. I would rather have all the songs export then not be able to export them at all.
    Wish List...
    ☑Summer Of 69 (Lego:RB)
    ☑Free Bird (Rock Band 3)
☑Every Rose Has It's Thorn (DLC)

    ☐Hotel California
    ☐November Rain
    ☐Youth Gone Wild

Alright, I admit it. I messed up. I was hoping to remove any trace of So What from my system. Now I'm stuck with it. I really do wonder why I bought this disc in the first place now.

Yeah, I want that song off my hard drive so bad, but I have no choice if I want the ~20 songs I can't get as DLC and can only get by buying this game.

Unless you too have a girlfriend who has picked this song every single setting, I doubt you have anywhere near the loathing I reserve for that song.

Is OK, though, I sing Girls and Boys back at her to equal annoyance.
    Also, I have butter cookies!
