    No subs?

Has anyone found a way to have it so that their band is all custom characters (when playing alone), rather than your character and the three pre-made ones?

I was incredibly disappointed when I couldn't find a way to make the characters I wasn't personally playing a part of my band and I've had to put up with the pre-mades.

If there isn't this option in the game, it's a pretty major step backwards, but at least it's not HMX taking that step, but TT.

On drums, you press the kick pedal to go to the next band member, where you then get to customize that character.

On Vox, probably press RB and probably press yellow on guitar/bass. Idk, I pretty much exclusively play drums.

You can also change your entourage and roadies.

I've got me as alien in cow disguise on drums, nicky overdrive on vox, and the deep sea diver and jester playing guitar/bass, with halloween character roadies.

Go to the Rock Shop, then select "Band".

Your custom character should be the first one that appears. If you look on the bottom right corner, it will tell you which button to press on your instrument to toggle to the "Next Band Member".

So for example, if you are on Guitar...you will press Yellow to toggle to your drummer, than your vocalist, and then your bassist. You will then be able to customize them as needed.

One thing to note though, customizing the stand-in doesn't actually create that person. But when you sign in as that instrument, you can duplicate the character design by selecting "Create New". The stand-in will appear as the default character, so you can simply rename them and choose "Create".

Likewise, your created character isn't automatically the stand-in. So if you start the game as a guitarist, if you go back and sign in as a vocalist Quinton Lance will be your stand-in. So you will have to go back to the Rock Shop and toggle to the guitarist to duplicate their design as your stand-in.

It's confusing at first, but once you figure it out it becomes second nature. It's also important to know that you toggle between members of the Road Crew and Entourage the same way you do Band Members.

Thank you for the in-depth explanation.

I was getting rather frustrated with that aspect

Glad to help. I was in the same boat for a little bit myself.

Also, hang in there in terms of finding parts. At first the pickings for female parts is pretty slim...but I'm through Story Mode now and have about 6-7 female fleshtone heads and another 5-6 female yellow heads.

And then there's also a handful of gender neutral ones.

This has been extremely helpful. I was completely ticked off about the character creation aspects, since even after unlocking parts in story mode, the option to create a new character was limited to the paltry amount of starter parts. I was bummed to think that my Lego Joker I made out of the Count, green greaser hair, and purple manager body parts was stuck as a band stand in, but then BAM, you tell me I can make a duplicate by signing in on that instrument in story mode! Saves me the trouble of having to create a new character, choose BS starting options, sign into story mode, open Rock Shop, and modify with unlocked parts hoping to remember my perfect set up. I'll be saving some pre-made celebs and famous characters now for my LRB party this weekend.
