    Tempo Mapping and Charting.

Hi, I'm the lead guitarist in my band and we want to chart some of our own songs. Only problem is we don't know how to use Reaper. I have split audio files of all the instruments, but I don't know how to create the tempo map or *ACTUALLY ADD THE ACTUAL NOTES* I have looked everywhere and cannot find a good tutorial or even a decent explanation of how to do these. Can anyone help me?

    PS: Im using Reaper 3.06

Thanks, but I already tried there and got lost half way through. I have never used Reaper before so I basically need step by step instructions.

"All that stuff" is: Step 2

stick to it - it confused me at first but once you get the hang and get over the duanting feelings of F-ing up, it's fine.

sorry if Im being a complete nub (which I know I am) but Im new to all this so, have patience

So basically, press Q at the beginning of each measure?

Yes, to insert a tempo map event at the current location, you press Q

That type of question is answerable. It's the "how to do all that stuff" ones that can't really be answered in a forum post.

Alright, thank you. Just one last nubtacular question remains... I re-read the stuff in the link provided by david and I still don't get how to get to the screen where you place the gems. I am in reaper, I finished my tempo map and I have the files "guitar.ogg drums.ogg and song.ogg" impoted. Where do I go from here.
