    Gretsch Strum Bar Messed Up

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not but seeing that it's a Beatles guitar I decided to go here. Well anyways for some reason it wont register when I strum down. I looked at it from the side when I strummed and noticed that the down strum goes down farther than the up.

Is there anyway I can fix this?
If not can I still replace it? (I got it the day after it came out)

Unfortunately, your 60 day warranty is up. But I would call the rockband support line to see what can be done - it would be a shame to give up that snazzy Hofner bass. There should be a thread at the top of the message board page redirecting you for any support questions. Hope everything works out for you.

Ok, I'll see what I can do. But it's actually a Gretsch Duo. Id hate to have to lose that though. I could always get another one for Christmas even though I probably wouldn't be able to get much else. And I don't know how available they are anymore. Are the guitars limited?

That would depend on what is wrong inside.

The only way to find that out is to take a look.

I did this upgrade to my Gretsch after it broke TWO times (returned it once):

    http://www.bytearts.com/strummer/index.html

Order the Gen 3 board and the strum bar, ($30 total) and ask Scott for the extra washers you will need them.

This exact same thing happened to my Hofner bass, on the 61st day I had it. Because I mostly downstrum anyway, I opened it up and flipped the strum bar mechanism upside down (had to unscrew it and screw it back in). Now I have to use the d-pad to navigate menus and there's no upstrum.

That website in the above post looks like a winner though, I should get one of those fixes.

What the bytearts kit basically does is to replace the original magnetic switches with small digital switches, and the strum bar with a SOLID bar instead of the cheap hollow OEM one.
