If there's a song in RB3 called VISIONS Unlimited, VISIONS.(period), The Legend of VISIONS, or Fascination VISIONS I will be so upset with you for giving them the idea.
I like the idea of DLC being added to the ESL, and the setlist being random, but it could scale a bit in degree, don't you think? I don't see why not.
Assuming a 30-song ESL ...
First ten are songs that fall under the Simple Random group (or 0-2 tier, we'll say)
Second ten are normal Random (which could be limited to 1-5 tier)
Third (final) ten are Challenging Random (4-6 tier)
There's basic structure to it, demanding some sense of skill while eliminating any redundancy AND gives opportunity for those who may have only one or two songs in their catalogue that would be un-passible.

Personally, I still haven't done it yet - RB2's ESL soured me so much on the ESL concept that I'm still refusing to play this one...
But, with what I have heard from everyone here, I would like the ESL to be a custom setlist (then I can choose what songs I want to play) or hopefully auto picked from the list of songs I have marked as favorites (a feature that better be in the next one) that way the endless setlist turn into 30+ songs that I love to play.
to me the ESL should be about lots of fun, not one last forcing chore to play everything I'm probably sick of by then.
Instead of the ESL being that last confirming - you mastered it all - pat on the back maybe they should make a new achievement of 'gold star all the pack-in songs' or something like that and instead make the ESL a symbol of endurance and willingness to play RB for 6 hours straight because you enjoy it.
I didn't like how some of DLC was incorporated in the setlist. Most of the DLC that transferred over to L:RB are the DLC I don't like or don't play.

How about the idea of not connecting the platinum symbol with the endless setlist at all? Because I can pass and even get 5 stars on every RB2 ondisc song, but when I attempted the endless setlist, I first had to suffer over 4 hours of beginner to medium songs to find out I had been using the wrong calibration from when I took my xbox to my friends house, so I just wasted 4+ hours of my life.
I think the platinum symbol should be given to you once you have a score on every ondisc expert song. They can still add some other award for completing the endless setlist, but this kinda makes it look as if skill is if you are willing to sacrifice an afternoon to prove what you already know :P I mean who would seriously attempt to play the endless setlist if he expected to fail at the hardest songs?
EDIT: I kinda didn't notice this is about lego rock band, I was talking about the songs in RB2, but I guess you still get my point.
