How come on the cover of Help! they're actually spelling NUJV and not HELP?

Because it looks better.

Originally, the Beatles were going to spell out help, but the semaphore for those letters looked kinda lame in the photo. Since the photographers couldn't make it work, they simply had the Beatles move their arms until they got something that looked right. Either way, it doesn't change the fact taht Nujv! is still a good album. :-)
