    Kung Fu Fighting tips

So I was playing LRB today and I had to play a setlist with KFF. I was on expert guitar and it was the first time I had played it and god damn it was hard. I am not bad at this game, but it just clubbed me right in the nuts.

I tried downstrumming the whole thing, but I got tired and cramped after about the first chorus. The pattern is also too awkward to alt-strum so that is no good.

I understand that is the hardest song in the game, but everyone else seems to think it is easy and can easily Gold star or fc it.

My question to you is how you guys play it that makes it seem really easy. For reference I have fced songs like Devour and Seven downstrumming the entire thing so I am not horrible at it. Thanks

Try upstrumming, it's kind of annoying to get used to but it's a bit easier in your fingers/hand.

I alt-strummed it, but it was the only song I've done where my wrist got tired while alt-strumming.

Have you ever tried playing Shining Star? That can be hard to altstrum and keep a streak as well

On trick that helps me is that in KFF, (I think) every stream of notes starts at a fret line and ends at a fret line. Both of these are a down strum. Every note that is one one of these fret lines will be a down strum and all the notes will be an up strum.

Look at how a real guitarist would play this part - loose wrist alt-strumming with accents on the chords. KFF is one of the most realistic charts in any RB game. It's also the only song where the wah effect is acceptable.

I alt-strum it, and end up with 4 stars. The song's pace is just outright frustrating with the chords. Reminds me of the acoustic bits of "Pinball Wizard", or the rhythm section during the sax solo in "Rio". I've played it 3 times on Guitar, and don't plan to ever again. I can get Gold Stars on "Shining Star" and "Makes Me Wonder" only downstrumming. I'll all about bass on that song now.

I alt-strum. Just make sure your fretting fingers are ready to move quickly. It's not so bad once you learn the pattern.
